Arranging a cremation

Following the death of a loved one there are some essential decisions that you will need to make before the funeral takes place.

You will need to decide upon the following:

  • Which Funeral Director you wish to take care of all the funeral arrangements
  • Whether the funeral will be a burial or cremation
  • Where the funeral service will take place (church, crematorium, cemetery chapel or elsewhere)
  • The arrangements for the day of the funeral (coffin choice, flowers, transport etc.)

Whilst we cannot arrange a funeral directly, we will work with you, or your chosen Funeral Director to ensure the funeral service suits your wishes and is personal to your loved one.

If you choose for your loved one to be cremated there are a number of restrictions which apply and should be taken into consideration.

For more information about the crematorium or the services we provide please contact Stockport Crematorium and Cemetery.
